Change of mind returns policy has changed

Change of mind returns policies for a number of retail stores has changed, examples include Dick Smith & Bing Lee.

If you look at the details online they now don’t offer a refund if you change your mind on an item you have bought online or in store. It pays to ask about the returns policy if you are thinking of returning a product to the store. You may have a chance if the product is unopened but they don’t have to take it back/ Always read terms & conditions if buying online to check their policies. It could catch you out especially on a store that used to accept returns in the past.

Spoken to Dick Smith in the past & they said this is where they business lost the most amount of money hence after being sold by Woolworths they changed their policy.

Free Offline Sat Nav App for Android & iPhone

Looking for a Sat Nav App that can be used offline so you don't incur those data charges esp when travelling abroad?

Navmii is an Sat Nav App available on both Android & iPhone where you download maps on to the phone before you go away using wifi at home or whilst away. This save the expensive mobile data charges when at home or when abroad.

The maps may not be as good as yet as Google maps but the cost of using these whilst abroad can leave you with an expensive data roaming bill.

Some tips:

1. Use a electricity comparison website to find the cheapest electricity prices in your area. Always check the length of the contract if you sign up to a new power company Check out Go Switch or
   SwitchWise to compare prices
2. It's usual cheaper to pay by direct debit.
3. Consider finding ways to save power such as better insulation. 
4. Only have the heating on when you need it. (Don't leave on all day like some people think works better)
5. Consider solar power if you live in an area with high sunshine per year. Solar electricity installation gets cheaper each year but make sure you go with a reputable agent.

QLD power prices may rise 21% next year

An article in Australian Financial Review this weekend predicts the average Queensland household may be hit with an electricity price increase of 21.4 per cent next year after the lifting of a 1 year price freeze by the Liberal National Party.
